11th November 2011 | Measuring "added value" through green planting
Although, as as nation, we appreciate the aesthetic appeal of green spaces in towns and cities and the positive effet they bring to the local environment, many don't recognise the value they can add in monetary terms.
The Green Infrastructure Valuation Toolkit is the result of a government-funded project to develop a valuation framework for the potential economic and wider returns from investment in green infrastructure.
The toolkit can be used to help show the value of projects even before work has begun, allowing decisions to be made in full consideration of the Cost-Benefit ratio of green landscape delivery.
Published and supported by the HTA under the Plant For Life campaign, full details can be accessed via the Plant for Life website.
